We use the present simple to express routine actions, permanent situations, or facts. Remember to put an "s" at the end of the verb for "he, she, it"! To form a yes/no question use "do" or "does" in front of the subject (person). For example: Do you like cake? OR Does he have a brother? If the question requires the verb "to be" use: Is/Isn't or Are/aren't (for "you", "we", "they"). For example: Isn't she nice? OR Are they tall? You can also use other modal verbs to form questions. For example: Have you got a brother? No, I have not/haven't.
